Here at Plåt & Mekano Romator we work closely with our customers to cooperate on their development projects. As a sheet metal supplier for several decades, we have helped customers with every aspect of projects both larger and smaller, working with them on design, production adaptation, conception and prototyping.

With our years of experience and deep knowledge of sheet metal production, we are confident that we can assist you in finding easy and inexpensive solutions. One great way to save costs is by using the same partner for several aspects of the project, such as design assistance, prototyping, and series production.

    Finding the right K-factor

We often run into questions about determining the correct K-factor, the ratio of the bending coefficient of edge pressing. We help our customers find the right K-factor for their projects, and we are always on hand to answer any of your questions and help resolve any issues. Some common issues are ones concerning fasteners, bending tools, bending radii, punching tools and aluminium/stainless steel welding. These are common and complex matters that can arise in any project, and thanks to our long experience we can help you solve these pressing issues effectively.

When you work with us Plåt & Mekano Romator, you can rest easy knowing that you will receive quick support when it comes to design issues. For example, our customers in Kista and Stockholm, since they are so close to our plants in Täby, have access to quick expert assistance and prototypes, sometimes delivered within just a few days.

Although we work primarily with sheet metal, we are also well equipped to deal with welded steel structures with pipes and other profiles.

We can laser cut and punch a wide variety of materials, starting from about 0.3 mm in thickness. The best method depends on the design of the product and the customer’s needs. We find it best that we discuss the project together so that we can come up with the most optimal solution.

    Examples of different materials:

    • Steel sheet, with various surface coatings and qualities — sheets up to 10 mm
    • Aluminium in various alloys and finishes — up to 5 mm
    • Stainless steel of various qualities — up to 6 mm
    • Spring steel
    • Brass
    • Copper
    • Plastic
    • Aluminium composites
