Sheet metal is available in different qualities and formats.
Sheet metal is the actual format, the sheet, that the material comes in. There are very many different types of sheet metal qualities, where the most common ones we use are:
- Steel sheet, 'ordinary sheet'

Sheet metal - A question of definition
There are different opinions about what counts as sheet metal. Some consider anything under 20 mm to be sheet metal, while we define sheet metal according to what our machines can work with. They can work with sheets from 0.5 mm to 6 mm, after that we consider the material to be coarser, although we can still work with it in some projects.
The discs we work with have different widths and lengths. We start by rolling them in a steel mill to a certain thickness, then we slit them to a certain standard width. We finish by cutting them to suitable lengths.
Our machines can handle formats up to 2500 x 1250 mm. You are welcome to check with us which qualities are suitable for your project. We know what to choose and what the prices are.
We process sheet metal in Gothenburg
Over the years, Plåt & Mekano has skilfully helped entrepreneurs in Gothenburg in areas such as electronics, telecom, medical technology, construction and real estate, industry and automation.
