Tumbling at P&M Romator

Thanks to a closed system for wastewater and drying, the method can be characterized as environmentally friendly, as no residues or wastewater are released. The varying sizes of the stones and tumbling machines allow us to adapt the process to the size of the piece, which can weigh anything from a kilo to a few grams. The liquid in the tumbling machines smoothly washes the goods in the process.

Advantages of tumbling

  • Very small details can be sanded
  • The detail is washed clean in the process
  • The goods have a smooth and fine surface

How does tumbling work?

Tumbling is done in three tumbling machines connected to a closed system with an associated maize dryer. The parts are placed in a drum which, like a washing machine, rotates around the goods together with soft ceramic stones and liquid, thus removing sharp edges from the part. Finally, the pieces are put into another drum with cornflour and heat, which dries the pieces and makes them come out clean, fine, and smooth to the touch.
