Laser cutting Linköping

For companies in Linköping, we can offer laser cutting with a time- and cost-effective process, with the right results according to your high finish requirements. Welcome to us at Plåt & Mekano Romator.

Laser cutting - endless possibilities

With our combi laser machines we can cut advanced shapes and patterns from the sheet metal blank, which can have thicknesses between 0.3 mm up to 10 mm in some materials. The combi technology allows us to have an integrated punching machine in the laser machine, so we can also make threads, bumps and embossings directly in the machine in the same set-up. This gives us a time- and cost-saving method.

We have been working with laser cutting for more than 20 years and today the method is one of our absolute favourite niches. We can produce beautiful details with precise cuts for our customers according to their high finish requirements.

As our lasers are CO2 type, not all materials are always suitable. But ask us about your project and we'll help you find the right method.

  • Choose laser cutting when you want to cut advanced shapes with fine cuts
  • It is a time and cost effective method
  • Laser cutting can handle rapid changeovers and dimensional changes
  • Wide range of moulding options thanks to large selection of tools

Briefly about the process of laser cutting

From a high-power laser, a thin, perpendicular and focussed beam is directed at the workpiece. When the beam hits the surface of the sheet metal, the energy is converted into heat, causing the material to melt or completely vaporise.

When the laser beam penetrates the material at a certain point, the actual laser cutting begins. The laser system follows a selected programme and separates the material in the process.

The thickness of the sheet metal that can be laser cut varies and is based, for example, on:

    • Machine performance
    • Cutting speed
    • Material quality
    • The skill and routine of the operator to set all the different parameters of the machine.

At Plåt & Mekano Romator, we have extensive experience in all of the above.

    Smooth laser cutting in Linköping

Plåt & Mekano Romator has good capacity for laser cutting. We have three combined laser machines that can perform both laser cut sheet metal and punching with tools, where our Amada also has unloading with a picking robot.

We can perform embossing, threading and other shaping in the same machine set-up as the laser machine itself. This gives us a fast and efficient production process.

Versatile Amada LC 2012 C1 Laser cutting combination machine

Next to two Apelito combi laser machines are Amada combi lasers LC 2012 C1, all in production around the clock. Here we get two machines in one, as they are of the CO2 laser 2kW type with integrated punching units in the same machine as the laser unit.

Amada has many advantages when it comes to laser cutting:

    • It provides a faster set-up time and a more cost-effective production for parts containing countersunk threads and mouldings.
    • The machine can perform corrugations, dents, engravings, small bends and punch labelling with tools - directly in the machine.
    • We can cut steel sheet 0.5 - 10 mm, stainless steel 0.5 - 5 mm and aluminium 0.5 - 5 mm, as well as cut sheets up to a size of 2500 x 1250 mm.
