    How does laser cutting work?

    A thin, perpendicular and focused laser beam from a high-power laser is directed at the workpiece, converting the energy on the surface of the sheet metal into heat and melting or vaporising the material hit by the beam.

    Laser cutting begins when the laser beam has penetrated the material at a certain point. The laser system works according to a selected programme and separates the material in the process.

    You can cut sheet metal of different thicknesses with laser cutting, but some factors affect the final result:

    Amada LC 2012 C1 Laser cutting combination machine

    Our laser department has three modern combination laser machines, two Apelio combination laser machines and one Amada combination laser LC 2012 C1, which are in production around the clock. They are of the CO2 laser type, 2kW with integrated punching units in the same machine as the laser unit. In other words: It's two machines in one.

    • For the right type of part that includes mouldings, countersinks and threads, this machine saves set-up time and allows for faster and more cost-effective production.
    • We have a connected picking robot that unloads finished parts onto a conveyor belt.
    • The machine can make engravings, punch markings, collars and dents and punch smaller bends with tools directly in the machine.
    • We can cut sheet steel 0.5 - 10 mm, stainless steel 0.5 - 5 mm and aluminium 0.5 - 5 mm.
    • We can cut plates up to size 2500 x 1250 mm.
