How does edge pressing work?

1. The plate is placed on a sub-tool, known as a pad.
2. Then the upper tool, the knife, presses down on the underlying pad with many tonnes of force, causing the sheet to fold/bend in line with the tools.
3. The part is then moved to the next station, where the next bend is made, until all bends are completed.
