FAQ

What materials can be cut with laser cutting?

Laser cutting can be used for many different materials, but our machines at P&M Romator specialise in metals in various sheet formats. We cut

  • steel plate
  • stainless
  • aluminium
  • copper
  • brass
  • titan

and various coated sheets such as

  • magnolia
  • aluzinc
  • hot-dip galvanised
  • galvanised sheet metal.

The machines we have are designed to cut plates from about 0.5 mm up to 6 mm, sometimes up to 10 mm.

Where laser cutting is not suitable, if the material would not withstand heat, other cutting techniques, such as waterjet cutting, may be more appropriate. It is always best to consult one of our specialists for a more specific assessment of which technique is suitable for the specific material and product requirements.
